  • Scope and Content
Mr & Mrs Cambridge attended the subscription Ball last Friday, and on Monday gave one themselves to the whole corps etc. They attended the writers home the previous evening to hear the military band and to play whist. Has had a letter from daughter Elizabeth Buller; she is in good health and enjoying rides in the mild and dry climate. The writer has no prospect of seeing her for several months. The physician has forbidden her sons leaving Mrs [Anne] Buller [Elizabeth's mother in law], who remians in the same state of weakness, though the foxglove has lowered the fever. Her complaint is a deep consumption arising from her affliction upon the death of her husband. Mr Cambridge has got his nephew down from school; he is a sweet boy and a friend of George Waddington [writer's grandson]. Request to purchase any old servant's blankets to give to the poor. The harvest has been better than expected and there are plenty of potatoes. Mention of a book about the life of the Pope.
