Accidental - Broncho-pneumonia, fractured femur; cerebral infarction. On 22 October 1982 he was driving a car along the A428 near Bromham, in line with other vehicles on one side of the road, approaching a bend. An articulated lorry travelling in the opposite direction braked suddenly and its trailer swung across the road, striking his car. Following his injuries he developed broncho-pneumonia and passed away in hospital three weeks later.
