Has received a very good account of Mrs [Jemima] Carew. Mention of the taking of Valenciennes and the death of Ensign [Lionel Robert] Tollemache. Asks if Lady Polwarth knows anything of a family called Cater, said to live near Bedford. There are three sisters, co-heiresses to an estate which has fallen to them on the death of a brother. Their mother was a Beaumont, sister of Sir George Beaumont. Lady Somers spoke well of the sisters.
