- Scope and ContentWriter's mother is staying while repairs are carried out to her London house. The journey seems to have been too much for her, 'as her mind is certainly weaker by it'. Son Charles went to the managers Ball last Monday; he danced with Miss Andrews of Northamptonshire. Wishes to know if Harrowgate agrees with Mr Yorke. Learns that old Lord Petre is to marry a Miss Howard of Heath, youngest sisier to his son's wife; a lively girl just come old of a convent. [Robert Edward Petre, 9th Baron Petre married Juliana Barbara Howard]. Reference to Lady Ann Broughton. The son of Lady Plymouth is at an acedemy at Brunswick and made happy by the good natured attention of the Duchess of Brunswick. The Bishops are ordered to repair to their respective dioceses to enforce the proclamation and direct their clergy.
