Letter from Mary Yorke to Lady Polwarth, sent from Ely. [Typed transcript available]. Mention of christening of Jemima Pole-Carew's daughter [Charlotte Jemima]. Ball at Lady Hatton's: there were about 12 or 14 couples, and they danced in the parlour from 6 in the evening to near that hour in the morning. The supper in the hall was uncommonly elegant.

The Benezets are mending, though Miss Benezet very slowly, 'her lungs are apprehended...' Sorry to hear of the death of Mrs Moss, the Bishop's lady, a most excellent domestic character.
