  • Title
Cattle now drink at the horse pond, which is a nuisance. Has proposed to the Duke to restore the pond at the Ash Tree (?) (filled up) where the cattle used to drink, but as it was filled in at Mr Barness's request it may again be a source of complaint. Does not believe pond is unhealthy - doctors use it as an excuse because Mr Barness's condition is a puzzle. Mr Hacker suggests that an Arnott stove be used to heat the canary cage; it will burn coke or Welsh coal. The doves are kept in a cage by themselves. Expects Anderson or his successor at the Aviary will arrange with Herring. [2 sheets.]
