- Scope and ContentWriter has had one of the heaviest colds she has ever had which has left her very weak. Very grateful for Lady de Grey’s grant of 3ft of light. Reference to books including Lucy Aikins ‘Memoirs of the Court of Elizabeth’. Mr & Mrs Yorke are staying at present. Mr Yorke was in very good spirits until a sudden attack of gout. Theyleave next week. Neighbour Lord Delaware is to attend the funeral of her late Majesty. [Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, wife of George III, died Nov 1818] Received a letter from the Caledons from Florence, where they appear to have been cold and uncomfortable [daughter Catherine and husband Du Pre Alexander, earl of Caledon]. Gives news from the letter.
