Report of the County Surveyor, Francis Giles, relating to the enlargement of the penitentiary. The works have been executed except that the number of proposed new cells had to be cut from 18 to 16. As he made this 14 single cells, 1 double cell and 1 treble cell, there was room equal to 19 single cells. Gives a long detailed account of why he has exceeded his estimate by £66.12s. 2d.
