- Date free text5 Jun [1807]
- Production dateFrom: 1807 To: 1807
- Scope and ContentThe writer has had an attack of rheumatism in her right hand, making it difficult to write. Reference to the vexatious state of the times. Mr Robinson is going to Vienna with Lord Pembroke. Writer is uneasy over [Viscount] Royston, and fears Lady Hardwicke's health suffers from worry about him. Asks after Lady Grantham after the loss of her sister [Lady Elizabeth Anne Magennis, nee Cole, died 1807]. Is alarmed by Lady Hardwicke's long continued dumbness as hitherto no advice seems to have been of use to her. 'It is a very extraordinary attack, and I suppose may proceed from a nervous origin.' Writer has just returned from a six week stay in Cheltenham. Hopes to visit Bonninghams, Wimploe and Wrest before the autumn is over. Reference to the Court - 'The poor Princess....is once more permitted to grace the court but the honour is granted as ungraciously as possible, for I do not find that she is yet admitted to the private parties or meetings of the Royal family. Is it true that the poor old Duchess of Brunswicke is coming to end the remains of an eventful life in her persucuted daughter's arms?'
