    Copy will of 9 March 1898 of Thomas Shackleton of High Town Road, Luton, retired straw hat dealer: - appointing his sons Henry Thomas and Frederick Reeves Shackleton as executors and trustees; - devising four messuages in Windmill Street, Luton and shop in Albert Road, Luton in occupation of D Buckingham to Henry Thomas Shackleton; - bequeathing £100 to Henry Thomas Shackleton; - devising three messuages in Cobden Street, Luton to Frederick Reeves Shackleton; - bequeathing £1,000 to Frederick Reeves Shackleton; - devising two messuages on the corner of High Town Road and Windmill Street, Luton in occupation of the testator and Joseph Walter Shackleton to Joseph Walter Shackleton and forgave him any monies owed him for starting him in business; - devising two messuages in Havelock Road, Luton to his daughter Lizzie Maria, wife of Edward Quicksley; - bequeathing all his shares in Luton Water Company to Lizzie Maria Quicksley; - devising and bequeathing the residue of his real and personal estate to his executors in trust to convert into ready money for equal division among the four siblings; - witnesses: Richard Cooke of Luton, solicitor; Douglas E Cooke of Luton, solicitor Codicil of 9 March 1898 revoking the devise and bequest to Lizzie Maria Quicksley and in lieu devising the messuages and bequeathing the shares to the trustees of his will upon trust to receive rents and dividends and pay to Lizzie Maria for her separate use with power to sell after the death of Lizzie Maria and divide the proceeds between those of her children over the age of 21: witnessed by Richard and Douglas E Cooke Note of death of Thomas Shackleton on 13 June 1898 Note of the proof of the will in PPR on 12 July 1898
