    (I) Conveyance of 19 September 1881 Parties: (i) John Vanes of 7 Sandringham Villas, Ealing [Middlesex], Wesleyan minister and Harriett, his wife; (ii) Charles White the younger of Luton, architect Reciting: - conveyances of 21 February 1855 from (1) John Waller the elder of Luton, woolstapler to John Vanes, then of Weston-super Mare [Somerset] and Harriett, his wife; and 6 February 1867 from (1) John Sambrook Crawley of Stockwood, Luton, esquire to (2) John Vanes, then of Milton Street, Dorset Square [Middlesex] and Harriett, his wife Operative Part: - (i) conveyed (a)-(b) to (ii) for £5,500 Property [as shown on included plan]: (a) parcel of arable land containing 9 acres, 27 poles, 7 yards in occupation of James Buckle bounded: NE by (b); SE by Luton Moor; SW by road or footpath from Luton to Biscot; NW by land of John Sambrook Crawley; (b) land containing 3 acres, 2 roods, 38 poles, 15 yards in occupation of James Buckle bounded: NE by high road from Luton to Bedford; SE by Luton Moor; SW by (a); NW by land of John Sambrook Crawley (II) Mortgage of 2 May 1882 Parties: (i) Charles White the younger; (ii) Charles Lockhart, esquire, Joseph Gutteridge, esquire and John Pickering, straw hat and bonnet manufacturer, trustees of Dunstable Permanent Benefit Investment and Building Society established under Act of 6 and 7 William IV and not incorporated under Building Societies Act 1874 Reciting: - (I) above; - (i) had applied for a loan of £5,000 out of monies belonging to the society not employed in advances on loan shares at 6% interest; - in the loan treaty it was agreed that (i) would, in addition to the principal and current interest, pay by way of bonus a fixed sum equal to six months’ interest on repaying the principal or any part and bonus would be received in substitution of all claims and as compensation for inconvenience Operative Part: - (i) covenanted to repay £5,000 and interest to (ii); - (i) conveyed (a) to (ii) Property: (a) land known as Vanes’ Estate in Luton containing 12 acres, 3 roods, 25 poles, 22 yards laid out in plots and intended for sale bounded: NE by New Bedford Road; SE by public recreation ground; SW by public footway from Luton to Biscot; NW by land of John Sambrook Crawley, esquire Proviso: - for equity of redemption (III) Further charge of 1 December 1883 from Dunstable Permanent Benefit Investment and Building Society to Charles White of £1,750 at 6% interest - £1,978/10/- principal remaining unpaid on the original loan
