Left Down Ampney 2 weeks ago; 'a very pleasant pretty place, tho' a very small one as regards to habitation, but by no means so as to pleasure ground, domain and command.' The Regent has conferred and Earldom on Baron Eliot [Nov 1815]. The writer had been bound to secrecy, but thinks she may confide the news to Lady Lucas. No offer has been made to son Charles. Thanks Lady Lucas for her kindness to niece Laetitia Beauchamp-Proctor.
