    Lord & Lady Caledon and their little boy have gone to the coast of France and intend to spend the autumn there. The writer considers no part of France is secure from 'mischief.' Reference to a specimen of Naval poetry and wit sent be the writer's son; daughter Caroline adapted some ballad tune to the words and they were sung as a duet by her ladyship and niece Laetitia. Reference to Lady Lucas' inclination to see the 'stolen goods [pictures and objects d'art removed from the Court of Europe to Paris by Napoleon during his years of triumph]. The writer hopes they are returned to hteir owners. Mention of newspaper reports of Napoleon 'during his sojurn in Plymouth Sound, and comments made by Admiral Sir George Cockburn. Accepts kind offer of venison. Enclosed poem titled 'Song by a foremast man of the Truant, on the departure of Napoleon Bonaparte for St. Helena.'
