- TitleLetter from Agneta Yorke to the Countess de Grey, sent from Bath.
- Date free text18 Dec 1820
- Production dateFrom: 1820 To: 1820
- Scope and ContentThanks for offer of venison which is accepted, as son Sir Joseph Yorke is expected for the new year. Miss Beauchamp is already staying. Hopes the next year will bring an alteration for the better in state affairs; 'the fever abates - the mob begin to tire of their most gracious and virtuous Lucan, and the Radicals must invent something new to revive the smouldering flame!' Mary Anne Yorke, the granddaughter of Mrs James Yorke, continues in a dangerous way. The writer fears that Mr J Yorke is not so well in mind as could be wished. Miss Annabel Carew is soon to be married [She married Francis Glanville on 6 March 1821]. 'It is not a great match; for the eldest son, there are seven or eight brothers and sisiters to be provided for out of a moderate estate - but he has a very good character which is a fortune in itself in these times.'
