- Scope and ContentWriter has been suffering from a 'violent inflamation on the great tendon of my leg', but is now feeling a lot better. Has been visited by son Joseph Yorke and his lady, her daughter and his eldest son [Urania Mary Ann Kington and Charles Philip Yorke]. Grandson Charles Philip Yorke has just been made a lieutenant. Lady Caroline Cocks was confined in Town by an inflamation in her breast, and has been obliged to give up nursing her little boy. She is going on well, but the disorder deranged her plans. Poor Mrs Beauchamp is likely to lose her daughter Mary; the girl 'is thought to be in a deep consumption, long been suspected so, but now the decline seems to be rapid, and a change of air is said to be the only remedy - and when it comes to that, I always think the doctors can do no more, and wish to get rid of their dying patient. This sad circumstance prevents Latitia form coming to me this autumn as I hoped, and she promised to do.' [Uncertain to whom this refers - likely a relative of the writer's sister].
