- Production dateFrom: 1814 To: 1814
- Scope and ContentConcerned at what Lady Lucas tells the writer about 'poor Princess Charlotte.' [Relates to breaking off the marriage contract with William Of Orange]. Read an article that after a quarrel with the Prince Regent the Princess ran out into the street and got into a hackney cab, in which she was taken to her mother's house. She reportedly summoned Whig politicians to advise her, and further particulars are not known. The writer has dismal forebodings. Hears from Lady Caledon who is in Paris that Louis and the Bourfons are only popular among their own court and old friends - Bonaparte is stil the lurking idol of the people. Mention of Lord Cochrane. Reference to neice Laetitia; 'she has a genius for drawing'.
