- Scope and ContentHas seen Mr Robinson, Lady Lucas' nephew. The writer is now so lame with rheumatism that she cannot get in and out of a carriage or up and down stairs without help. 'I so thoroughly detest the French and all that relates to them...' 'I do not see why the Prince of S C is not as good a match as any other for our great lady.....' [Refers to Princess Charlotte of Wales and Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, who married 2 May 1816]. Expects to see Joseph Yorke next week, accompanied by his son Henry. Mention of daughter Caroline 'her health has been very indifferent of late.' Reference to a marriage which the writer assumes will take place when Lady Hardwicke is better; writer wishes it had taken place in England. 'The bridegroom's occupation will probably keep him on the continent for many years.' [Assumed to be marriage of Lady Elizabeth Margaret Yorke and Charles Stuart, 1st and last Baron Stuart de Rothesay, who married Feb 1816] General family news.
