- Scope and ContentBills, invoices and letters for the Grimmer family relating to medical expenses: - an invoice to Grimmer Esq of Ampthill from Messrs Kirby & Mathison, dental surgeons of 41 De Parys Avenue, Bedford dated Midsummer 1912, totalling £5 12s. A red one penny George V stamp attached under a receipt stamp dated 26 July 1912. - an invoice to Mr Grimmer from Dr A Pollitt of 1 Lansdowne Road, Bedford dated 25th February 1918 for an x-ray examination totalling £9 9s. A red 2d George VI stamp attached with "Paid with thanks 25/2/48 BPB" written on top. - a bill/invoice to Mr Grimmer from the Bedfordshire Hospital Trained Nurses Institute dated 8th December 1920 for expenses incurred for a 6 week 3 day stay totalling £56 14s 6d. - a letter from H Godson from the above nursing home based at 23 Kimbolton Road, Bedford dated 2nd January: "With many thanks and all good wishes for a very happy New Year". - a sickness certificate dated 23 March 1930 stating that "Mr Grimmer residing at Ampthill is suffering from haematuria and is at present unable to follow his occupation". Signed by a Dr R Garner. - a letter from H Godson at the Bedfordshire Hospital Trained Nurses Institute dated 15th December 1930; "Dear Mr Grimmer, If the enclosed [no enclosure] does not suit, just let me know what you want put. So glad you are keeping well. Yours truly". - an invoice to Mr Grimmer of Market Square, Ampthill from Messrs Nash, Birks & Nash, physicians and surgeons, of 1 Lansdowne Road, Bedford dated 1st January 1931 for an operation and pathology work totalling £31 3s 6d. A red 2d George V stamp attached with "Rec'd Feb 10 1931 Nash Birks Nash" written on top. - a receipt from Mr Grimmer for the Bedfordshire Nurses Institute dated 2nd January 1938 for £56 14s 6d signed by H Godson, Superintendent. Two red one penny George V stamps attached with "With thanks" written on top.
