Accepts kind offer of doe venison. Surprised that Lady Lucas is not tempted to spend Christmas in the country. Would like to see the major reviewing Lady Lucas' corps of volunteers. Will go to Hampshire in January and stay two or three months till the house is let to a new tenant. Whereabouts of family members. Captain Yorke is at last going to take his station at St.Helens previous to joining the fleet.
