    Bills, invoices and letters for the Grimmer family relating to purchases of clothing: - receipted invoice from William Stearn & Son, tailors and gentlemen's outfitters, of Dunstable Street, Ampthill dated Lady Day 1914 to Albert Grimmer totalling £2 17s for the purchase of a serge suit and the cleaning and pressing of another suit. Stamps attached. - delivery note and receipt with stamps attached from Montague Burton Ltd of Silver Street, Bedford totalling £3 15s dated 11th May 1937. - invoice to A E Grimmer in Church Street, Ampthill from Montague Burton Ltd, Bedford for a part-payment of £5 15s dated 2nd March 1942. - carbon copy of a typed letter from Albert Grimmer to Montague Burton Ltd in Silver Street, Bedford dated as above enclosing 26 clothing coupons. - carbon copy of a typed letter from Albert Grimmer to Montague Burton Ltd, Bedford requesting overcoat patterns and handwritten reply on headed paper from an H J Foster stating that patterns cannot leave the shop premises but offering to make one if provided with measurements and cloth is chosen. A carbon copy of a response from Albert Grimmer dated the following day gives measurements and states that his brother-in-law S Swaffield will come in to select cloth. - invoice to A E Grimmer in Church Street, Ampthill from Montague Burton Ltd, Bedford for a part-payment of £8 dated 30th November 1943. - 2 page invoice from Harry Hills Ltd, gentlemen's outfitters, of Silver Street, Bedford dated 12th January 1944, totalling £2 15s 4d for the purchase of collars, gloves, studs and a hat. - delivery note and receipt with stamp attached from Montague Burton Ltd totalling £7 dated 12th January 1944. - invoice to A E Grimmer in Church Street, Ampthill from Montague Burton Ltd, Bedford for a part-payment of £8 15s dated 7th March 1944. - delivery note and receipt with stamp attached from Montague Burton Ltd totalling £7 15s dated 20th July 1945.
