Examination of John Field of Luton, butcher: sold Joseph Gutteridge a round of beef with a skewer through it. The point of the skewer was broken and he put a new point on it. Identifies beef found in James Burgess' house as that he sold to Gutteridge. Examination of Edward Taylor, Luton, constable: found part of the beef in James Burgess' house in a back room on a stool, in the evening found the remainder in a sack under the stairs.
