- Scope and ContentThese documents contain, incidentally, an account of the descent of the site of Newnham Priory in Goldington from 1673-1761; in 1821 a family settlement of the Nash family, who were brewers in Bedford; also a plan of no. 35 High Street in 1837 when John Howard had just built his foundry in the yard behind the shop. After Howard moved to Britannia Ironworks over the river, no. 35 became Messrs Bacchus, ironmongers. The plough above the shop was not removed until April 1969
