he is 64; has lived in Bedford nearly all his life; has known since he can remember Short's premises in High Street; believes they were conveyed to Short by Mrs Mary Sawell in 1811; Short converted the messuage in occupation of William Mallows and Elizabeth Waples to one, in which he lived for many years; and he built a surgery in part of the yard; and converted the various gardens to one; he also converted the messuage occupied by Mrs Chapman and Henry Pulley and granary into 1 messuage which was in occupation of William Cuttriss
