  • Scope and Content
Encloses letter from Mr Brookholding of Bewdley [not present]. Reference to the £17 10s annuity which would have been due last month to Mrs Brazier [who has died]. The Imperial Annuities will expire 30 April 1819, and as Mrs Scarlett has £20 per annum from that source, if Lady Lucas should chose to go beyond the £17 10s, perhaps the allowance of another £20 per annum during the continuance of the Imperial Annuities would be the more eligible mode of considering the old gentlewoman. If Lady Lucas were to give the whole allowance now the expiration of the Imperial Annuities might occasion a still further claim, and it might tbe better to reserve for it. The writer found from Mr Bury that Miss Scarlett had been advised to apply but had refused.
