    Parties: (i) George Nodes junior of Shephall [Hertfordshire] and Charles Higgs of Clifford’s Inn [Ann], esquire; George Draper of Hitchin [Hertfordshire], gentleman (trustees of George Nodes); (ii) John Nodes of Shephall, gentleman (brother of (i)); (iii) Edward Jones of Welwyn [Hertfordshire], gentleman and Rebecca, his wife (sister of (i)) and Ann Nodes of Shephall, spinster (sister of (i)); (iv) Ralph Wingate of Welwyn [Hertfordshire], esquire; Robert Raworth of Six Clerks Office [Ann], gentleman Reciting: - AN38/1; - after the death of George Nodes senior Ann Nodes, one of his daughters and sister to George Nodes junior also died and administration of her goods and chattels devolved on George Nodes junior; - release of 10 August 1698 between (1) Thomas Nodes and (2) George Nodes junior in which (1) conveyed his interest in the real estate of George Nodes senior to (2) for £500; - lease and release of 5-6 August 1701 between (1) George Nodes junior and (2) Charles Higgs, Edward Draper and George Draper in which (2) had agreed to become bound with (1) in several bonds to secure payment of £600 and interest and reciting that George Nodes’ real estate was charged with payment of £3,000 - £1,000 each to John Nodes, Rebecca Jones and Ann Nodes and that the real estate had been charged with payment of £500 to Thomas Warburton, gentleman and in which (1) conveyed to (2) the Manors of Holwell and Langford and land in Holwell, Shillington, Arlesey, Stotfold, Henlow, Astwick, Langford, Clifton and Biggleswade; - George Nodes junior agreed to surrender all his copyhold property in manors of Ramerick, Henlow Lanthony, Etonbury and Henlow Warden to the use of Charles Higgs, Edward Draper and George Draper; - Ann Nodes had agreed to accept a mortgage of property in Holwell as security for her £1,000 and her share of the personal estate of Ann Nodes; - Edward and Rebecca Jones had agreed conveyance of land in Arlesey in occupation of John Cosens in satisfaction of their £1,000 and share in the personal estate of Ann Nodes; - John Nodes had agreed to accept a mortgage of Impey’s Farm, Arlesey as security for his £1,000 and share of the personal estate of Ann Nodes Operative Part: - (iv) paid 5/- to each of (i)-(iii); - Charles Higgs, George Draper, (ii) and (iii) released (a)-(j) to (iv) Property: (a) farmhouse in Arlesey in occupation of John Impey; (b) close containing 8 acres adjoining (a); (c) Tainter Close of 3 acres; (d) close containing 4 acres adjoining (d); (e) Hardwick’s containing 2 acres; (f) Dame Reason’s Close containing 2 acres; (g) pasture and meadow called Hoberry Homes containing 5 acres; (h) meadow called The Furlong containing 4 acres; (i) arable in the common fields of Arlesey, Astwick, Stotfold and Henlow containing 150 acres; (j) messuage in Arlesey in occupation of John Impie and Richard Rowell Habendum: - to (iv), to the use of (ii) for 500 years, to the use of Charles Higgs and George Draper Proviso: - for equity of redemption by (i) paying £1,000 to (ii) - interest 5% Witnesses: - Henry Troughton of Six Clerks Office; - Edward Pryor, servant to George Draper; - R Edwards; - William Harvey; - Ctho Harris of Hitchin
