Information of John Hipgrave of Pirton, Hertfordshire, labourer: received a bundle from Mrs Reynolds, housekeeper to John Kingsley the elder of Pirton, belonging to Mary Ann Goode, to take to Ampthill on his waggon. He put it on his waggon with a box and Mary Anne Goode afterwards got up on the waggon to ride. Between New Inn and Silsoe they were overtaken by John Low and Thomas Taylor on horseback. Low and he got into conversation but Taylor rode at the back of the waggon. When they got to Silsoe Hipgrave went into the George and was later followed by Low and Taylor who ordered beer. Hipgrave then went out and on to Clophill where they found that the parcel was missing. He suspected Low and Taylor and told Mr Goode of his suspicions.
