- Scope and ContentEncloses two notices to quit to be signed by Lady Lucas. Benjamin Clay is a very bad manager who was refused a lease when leases were granted to the other tenants. The writer is informed that during the time which has been given him to improve, he has become worse and that he is seldom sober. The writer recommends that he is given notice before Lady Day, and Lady Lucas may decide afterwards how the farm should be disposed of. A son of Charles Clay, who is said to inherit his father's good qualities is a candidate. The other notice is to Mr Andrews, who is a man of property; he applied for the land as a convenience and has now underlet it at a profit.
