- TitleInformation of Richard Byrchmore of Tipple hill, Caddington, farmer: a person went to his house and told him that Tyler "had got himself into a hobble about some barley" and was in custody at the Wheatsheaf, Luton. He went to Tyler's public house the Bull, where he was called into the bar and found John Field, James Ward, John Carpenter and George Clarke there. They threw a sample bag of barley to him and pressed him very much to go "before the Gentlemen" when Tyler came up for trial and say that he had sold it to Tyler about a fortnight or three weeks before. He refused to do it as he had not sold barley to Tyler. On the way home he took the barley sample to John Pates a corn dealer and told him what they had asked him to do but said "I would not do it for all Luton". John said he had done very right.
