- Scope and ContentCarbon copy of a handwritten letter from Albert Grimmer to C E Freeman, editor of the Bedfordshire Magazine dated 20th September 1957: "Dear Sir, May I compliment you on a very lively volume 6 No 42 Bedfordshire Magazine. I cannot agree to all that was said about the Greensand Towns, particularly page 78, rather following the lines of Prof. Richardson and the recent lamps trouble. He, Sir Albert, is a dear old friend but I have to admit a bit inconsistent. I remember driving into Ampthill from Bedford the late Sir Anthony Wingfield when he remarked "I think Ampthill should thank you for making a nice clear entry and open space in front of your new garage." Incidentally, Prof. Richardson advised me to place the ready-made building as I did. I have sold that part some time since so any ..... now for the upkeep. Have you seen number 230 Aug 1934 issue of "Shell Aviation News". There is an article about the Shuttleworth Trust. Some parts tie up with what I wrote you about old planes, and might add interest. Yours sincerely,"
