- Scope and ContentTypewritten letter from John Queenborough, Editor of The Garage & Motor Agent "weekly paper of the motor trade" to A E Grimmer Esq at Station Road, Ampthill dated 18th May 1954: Dear Mr. Grimmer, Following publication of your letter, our "Jhansi" has come to the rescue -- at least, I hope he has. The enclosed book arrived from him today, marked "For Mr. Grimmer, who I met when staying in Ampthill. Please lend it to him, and ask him to return it direct to me when he has finished with it." I see that the Anzani is dealt with on page 74, and I hope you can read French, and that it gives you the details you need. "Jhansi"'s name is John Pollitt, and he lives at Post Office Lane, Eskdale, Cumberland. Kind regards, Yours sincerely, John Queenborough" A carbon copy of Albert Grimmer's handwritten reply is on the reverse of the letter: "Dear Mr. Queenborough, I beg to acknowledge safe receipt of the French book so kindly lent by "Jhansi". The book will be very carefully used and returned direct to Mr Pollitt in a few day's time, as requested in your letter. In the meantime though I only know a few words of French, most if not all my five daughters know the language pretty well, so between us I hope we shall find what we want. I am just acknowledging safe receipt, direct to "Jhansi". We are in a muddle at the moment, builders making alterations and a big mess in 3 rooms of our home. Stamps to cover cost of p/p enclosed, any other expenses I shall be glad to refund. Again thanking you. Yours sincerely, A E G
