- Scope and ContentIncludes copy of a letter from Mr Jervis regarding representation of the county and town of Leicester. The handbill states McCarthy to have been discharged from the Fleet prison last august under an insolvent act. Reference to candidates for Wiltshire and Colchester. Letter from Mr Jervis refers to the electoral candidates for Leicester; S Smith and Babington were the members for the borough and are now candidates. Mr McCarthy has come forward in opposition, nominated by 'an inferior tradesman'. Jervis encloses a handbill about him. Jervis does not consider McCarthy has any possibility of success. The nomonation day for the county of Leicester is next Monday. It is supposed the late members will come in again without opposition; they are Sir Edmund Cradock-Hartopp and George Anthony Legh-Keck. Jervis provides brief details of both.
