    Parties: (i) William Pedly of Great Barford, gentleman; (ii) Lucy Rolfe, late of Southill, now of Shefford, spinster; (iii) Samuel Whitbread of Southill, esquire; Lawrence Gall of Biggleswade, surgeon Reciting: - intended marriage between (i) and (ii); - (ii) was seized of: an estate at Wootton under the will of her late grandfather Thomas Summerly, yearly value £50; a freehold and copyhold estate at Biggleswade of the yearly value of £45; as residuary legatee and executrix of Paul Walker, gentleman, to £1,075 in 5% loan annuities under the name of Paul Walker at the Bank of England; to £1,000 lifelong annuities; £533/6/8 in 3% annuities; £1,000 and interest due on a promissory note of Hebert & Son of Biggleswade, merchants - in all £260 per annum income; - it was agreed that the real estate would be conveyed, surrendered and assured, that the bank annuities be transferred to (iii) and that (i) should receive, for his own use, the £1,000 owed by Herbert & Son, in return settling estate worth £50 per annum on (ii) and any issue of their marriage with produce of the annuities making provision for (ii) if she survived (i) and for the issue of the marriage equal to the present fortune of (ii) and (i) agreed to secure to (ii) household goods, plate and furniture to the value of £200 Operative Part: - (iii) paid 10/- to (i); - in consideration of the marriage and £1,000 (i) granted to (iii); - (iii) paid 10/- to (ii); - agreement by (i) and (ii) that on solemnization of the marriage they would grant, convey, limit and assure all real estate of (ii) to trusts; Property: (a) 40 acres of arable, meadow and pasture, formerly wood called Cuckow, Creakers or Crecus Wood; (b) Shepherd’s Pastures - 24 acres 3 roods 34 poles with cottage and barn standing thereon; (c) arable called Turvey’s Corner; (d) arable called Thirty Acres adjoining Bosley Field and 10 acres of arable in Mill Field and two pieces of land in Bosley Field containing 10 acres, 20 poles and 6 acres, 2 roods; (e) land containing 5 acres, 3 roods, 30 poles; (f) land containing 2 roods, 30 poles (a)-(f) in Great Barford formerly in the occupation of Thomas Greeves, then William Becher, then Robert Becher who sold it to John Pedly, father of (i) [AN13/30] Habendum: - to (iii) to the use of (i) until the marriage, then to the use of (i) for his life, to the use of (iii) during the life of (i) in trust to preserve contingent remainders, suffering (i) to receive rents an profits for his life, after the death of (i) to the use of (ii) for her life, to the use of (iii) during the life of (ii) to preserve contingent remainders, suffering (ii) to receive rents and profits, after the death of the survivor of (i) and (ii), to the use of children of (i) begotten on the body of (ii) Operative Part: - (i) and (ii) covenanted with (iii) on solemnization of the marriage to surrender (g)-(h) Property: (g) cottage divided into two tenements in Biggleswade formerly in the occupation of Thomas Rolfe, then of Thomas Gardner, gentleman, now David Moses and William Read; (h) Malthouse belonging to (g) in occupation of Samuel Wells Habendum: - to the use (iii) upon such trusts nearest corresponding to those for (a)-(f) Operative Part: - (i) and (ii) covenanted that on solemnization of the marriage they would transfer to (iii) all bank long annuities and 3% annuities to possess the annuities and their dividends and profits in trust to allow (i) to receive dividends and profits for his life, remainder to (ii) for her life; remainder to their children as directed by them or, in default, equally between them Witnesses: - Harriet Layman of Shefford; - Joseph Eade of Hitchin [Hertfordshire]
