  • Scope and Content
Postcard sent to Mrs D Walsh, Galley Lane, Arkley, Herts. Message reads 'Bell Close, Tottenhoe, Dunstable, Here I am with 113 children, 6 staff and 6 helpers. Totternhoe is a delightful little village 2 miles from Dunstable at the foot of the Downs. The J.G's are distributed in 4 diff counties. I phoned you up last Tues. but you were still away. Fond love to you all, Hilda.' N.B. Mr Swain speculated that it sounds like a school evacuated, with J.G.s possibly standing for 'junior girls'.
