A collection of documents relating to Albert Grimmer's purchase and restoration of an 1911 Darracq motor car. The file includes: - Notes made by Albert regarding the vehicle's restoration and reconditioning. - Correspondence between himself and John Queenborough regarding an article on the car for the Garage & Motor Agent magazine, plus a copy of the article with accompanying photograph of Albert Grimmer in the car. - A receipt for the purchase of the car by a Mr Dennis Barker of Woburn Sands following Albert Grimmer's death in 1960 and a letter from Mr Barker to Honora Grimmer regarding the car's official dating certificate from the Veteran Car Club. - A programme from the 1955 Veteran Car Club Silver Jubilee car rally held on 6th-10th July from Stratford-upon-Avon to Royal Leamington Spa via Cheltenham and Longbridge plus copies of competitors' final instructions, a race number and race log book made out to A E Grimmer of Station Road, Ampthill. Inside the log book are various tickets and passes to car club events along the route of the rally, plus a rally pennant with metal screw for fixing to a car.
