With thanks and seeking to repay the money owed: Two years ago his situation in Odessa was very bad and there was nothing to eat. He would now like to refund the $10 Mr Bates sent to him via the American Relief Association but this small sum will never cover his obligations and he would be glad to be of any help in return. He is much better off today and there is no more hunger in Russia. He is working for a Soviet company importing machinery from Germany. Enquires after their old friends Mr Bland and Mr Ekland. Mr Wardropper returned to Russia and is now in Moscow.
