    i) George Townsend Benison, 10 Adelphi Place, Paignton, Devon, esquire ii) Ellen Smyth, 20 Bancroft, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, widow iii) George Smyth, Newenden House, Newenden, Kent, esquire iv) John Smyth, Luard Road, Cambridge, land agent v) said George Smyth vi) Georgina Eveleen Smyth, 83 Marlborough Road, Dublin, Ireland, widow vii) Albert Wilkinson, "The Chase", Stopsley, near Luton, esquire (the vendor) viii) Edward Anthony Cumberland, Greenhurst, Luton, esquire (the purchaser) whereas ; Sarah Rebecca Smyth, late of Stevenage, Hertfordshire, widow, deceased, was at her death seized of one half part of hereditaments hereinafter described, made her will on 25 March 1890 and after appointing James Flack and i) as executors, devised all her interest in said property in the Manor of Sharpenhoe and the Sharpenhoe Estate to i). She died on 15 January 1895 and will proved on 28 February 1895 (Principal Probate Registry) Hugh Smyth, late of Quickswood, Baldock, Hertfordshire, gentleman, deceased, being at his death seized of the other half of said property, made his will on 22 July 1902, and after appointing wife ii), and iii) and Ernest Bowman as executors, devised his half part to his 4 sons, Thomas, George, John and Harry in equal shares. Interest to be paid to ii). He died 11 October 1902. Will proved 24 December 1902 (Principal Probate Registry) Thomas Smyth (one of sons of said Hugh Smyth) by his will of 23 February 1907 assigned his share to George Lawrence Smyth, only son of iii), when 21. He died 23 May 1907. Will proved 25 July 1907 (Principal Probate Registry) said George Lawrence Smyth has not reached 21 and there has not been any assent by iii) as personal representative of Thomas Smyth to the devise contained in will of Thomas Smyth to said George Lawrence Smyth Harry Smyth died on 28 April 1916. Will dated 17 November 1904. vi) and iii) appointed executors. Proved 20 July 1916 (Principal Probate Registry) … 4 several closes of land on East side of main road from Streatley to Sharpenhoe (23.008 acres), part of the Sharpenhoe Manor Estate (nos. 67, 66, 64 and 80 on plan on deed), and dwelling house on 67 … several adjoining closes also part of Sharpenhoe Manor Estate (nos. 83, 82, 146, 81, part 84, 85) together with Clappers Wood or Sharpenhoe Clappers (no. 59, 112.577 acres) consideration £1,500 certain provisions including: iii) and iv) will pay the succession duty on death of ii).
