Writer has enquired of Messrs Hoare & Co. as to the payment Lady Lucas was in doubt about. They are uncertain whether it should be placed in Lady Lucas' account or that of Pawsey. Has received a letter from Firmin regading an application made by the widow of a tenant of the Shenfield estate for permission to assign the lease. Will try to get some information from the tax office on the subject of the remaining instalment.
