- Production dateFrom: 1799 To: 1799
- Scope and ContentEncloses receipt for the installment of income tax. Thomas Emly, who has a life interest in two Wiltshire leases, has died. His brother, the lessee, has applied for renewals, wishing to substitute the life of his son. He also desires to exchange his own life interest for that of another of his sons. The writer will go to Crudwell next month and advise a sum to be paid and the state of the grounds. The writer would prefer offering Mr Lewis a premium to an increase for rent. If Lady Lucas approves, the writer will offer £15 for the lease of the meadow at the present rent for a term co-extensive with the lease of the house. If Lady Lucas prefers, the writer will offer an additional rent of 2 guineas per annum instead of a premium. The only Essex lease which will expire at Michaelmas is Bezaliel Blomfield's; it is a small farm now let at £34 per year. Mr Burgess has not yet sent his accounts of the quit rents. Mr Bryan has substituted the new frame to the Le Sueur picture.
