  • Title
    Facing north the view shows a bakery on the corner of High Town Road and Cross Street. A sign above the shop door reads 'The North Ward Hygenic Bakery. Est 1850. Agent for Lipton Teas'. Further signs for 'Hovis Bread' and 'Fry's Chocolate' can be seen on the side of the building and the shop windows. The name 'F.J Redrup', the proprietor, can be seen on a delivery cart just outside the shop and above the shop door. Two women stand in the door way of the shop and several staff members by the delivery gate on the left, three delivery horse and carts can be seen as well. Next to the cart bearing the proprietor's name is a young boy and, presumably, the proprietor. Card produced by Howard Photo.

    Card sent to 'Mr W. Wilson, Baker etc, Langley Rd, Local'. The message reads '13 Crescent Rd. Dear Sir, The Town Clerk has asked me to arrange for the first delivery of potatoes therefore I shall be glad if you can meet at the above address for a short time on Wednesday evening at 8-30. Yours truly F J Redrup'
