- Scope and ContentA newspaper cutting announcing the marriage of Annie Swaffield to Albert Grimmer: "An interested congregation met in St Andrew's Church [Ampthill] on Thursday morning Oct. 6, to witness the marriage of Miss Annie Swaffield, second daughter of the late Mr. B. G. Swaffield, of Arthur-street, to Mr. Albert Edward Grimmer, eldest son of Mr. G. J. Grimmer, of Bedford-street, and of the firm of A. E. Grimmer & Co., Flitt Cycle Works. The Rector officiated, and the wedding was quietly celebrated, in consequence of the bride's family being in mourning for her father. She was given away by her brother, Mr. S. Exton Swaffield, organist of All Saints', Windsor; she wore a dress of white muslin trimmed with satin and lace, a white chip hat trimmed with feathers, and orange blossoms; and she carried a beautiful bouquet, the gift of the bridegroom. Miss Eva Swaffield (her sister) and Miss Bertha Grimmer (the bridegroom's sister) were bridesmaids, in white dresses and hats; and there were also in church Mrs Swaffield, Mrs Exton Swaffield, and Mr and Mrs Grimmer. The happy pair had many presents, and their future home is Ivy Cottage."
