- agreed retirement of (i) from the partnership on payment to him of £420;
- the £420 to be paid thus: £200 on execution of this deed; the remainder in three equal payments of £73/6/8 on the expiration of six, twelve and eighteen months with interest at 5%;
- mortgage of 26 November 1896 from (1) Benjamin Goffin and Edgar James Gates to (2) Woolwich Equitable Building Society;
- three subsequent further advances from the Woolwich Equitable Building Society of 24 June 1897, 21 September 1897 and 11 January 1898;

- (i) released to (ii) all his share and interest in the business and its goodwill;
- (i) appointed (ii) as his attorney in regards to the partnership;
- (i) and (ii) mutually released each other from all covenants in Z1542/3/1
