I am sorry I troubled you so much in writing, hundred of men in this country don't write home, I tell them my parents are parents that every one has not got. I received this letter yesterday. I want to know what situation John got Harry, and what regiment he has enlisted in. I should have felt sorry for you if I had known poor old Harry had been such a burden to you, but he is now where he never need again if he behaves hisself, which I hope he will or they will kill him the same has they nearly done me. I know I have no room to talk. So Chall is going to Brum again. You need not be uneasy about Vin, he is the same as me, he carnt forget you. I am pleased to hear about the promotion of Ellen and Lizy. I am pleased to know Sarah Ann has a good trade. I hope old Pallet will do well. Is Father Chairman of the School Board yet? I understand Mr Carter is dead, you mean old John Carter. You tell me old Dan Wilson's wife has another kid, - she could make money wright in this city to bring the whole family to the world's exposition. You surprise me greatly when you say Harry has given up drink - I did not know he ever touched it, I am sorry that has been the trouble. That is a nice programme you have sent me of the entertainment of the Shillington school. Tell me what part of India Harry is going to. I suppose Vin is in India. I was suppised to hear that uncle Tom was in America. You tell me Jim Wilson has been to this country and went back because it was to cold - why didn't he come down to the sunny south? Chall and his wife and child are coming home at Christmas, you say. It's taken about 2 hours to write this letter, you need not answer till I write again. Don't be thinking about me being dead, because if I am dead you carnt help it.
