The writer is alone at Nocton: Mr Robinson set out yesterday to obey a summons to Ripon for the election of a town clerk to replace Mr Taylor who has died. The election was due to take place this morning, so he had to travel all night. Writer wonders of the Granthams are still at Newby, but as Yorkshre seems quiet, expects they have set out on their tour of the lakes. Eleanor is well and looks forward ..... to the arrival of her puppy. [daughter Eleanor Henrietta Robinson, died 1826] Mr Robinson has requested a person resident at Spalding to make enquiries respecting Miss Phillips.
