A copy of "The Illuminated Scripture Text Book: with Descriptive Verses, an Interleaved Diary and Coloured Illustrations for Every Day" by Edmund Evans, published by Frederick Warne and Co. of Bedford Street, Covent Garden, London, sold by S & T Gilbert, booksellers of 36 Moorgate Street, London E.C. The diary is inscribed inside the front cover "Jane Eliza Carr, With her Father's love, 31st May 1874". The diary is filled with names against dates to mark birthdays and there is also an embroidered bookmark in a silk binding, possibly the handiwork of Jane.
