Reference to Lady Lucas's kindness in respect to Dr Granville going to Nocton with the writer. £600 is the sum agreed upon, which is about £400 more than they had anticipated he would require in remuneration; Lady Lucas's kind offer of assistance has induced Lord Goderick to agree. Writer hopes that her health and that of 'our precoius boy' will be improved by the visit to Nocton.
