- Scope and ContentOriginal indenture document made 16th May 1902 between Samuel Exton Swaffield of Ivy Bank, Burnham in the County of Buckingham, Organist of the Parish Church (the Mortgagor) and Hugh George Goodacre, Robert George Harrison and Claud Edward Darrell, all of Slough in the County of Buckingham (the Mortgagees), based upon the consideration due from the Indenture of Settlement between Benjamin George Swaffield and Eliza Annie Swaffield dated 19th day of June 1868 and the resulting investments, facilitated by the Trustees of said Settlement, Henry Richard James Swaffield and Samuel John Swaffield, whereby the sum of £50 paid to the Mortgagor by the Mortgagees out of monies belonging to them on a joint account. The Mortgagor covenants with the Mortgagees to pay to them the sum of fifty pounds on the sixteenth day of November next with interest thereon at 5% p.a. or as long as the principal remains unpaid, to pay them such interest on each sixteenth day of May and November thereafter. Signed by Samuel Exton Swaffield in the presence of A W Baxter, Clerk to Messrs Goodacre, Harrison and Darrell, solicitors of Windsor. Included on the document is an amendment dated 6th November 1916, removing Claud Edward Darrell from the agreement following his death. Additionally there are four stamped receipts of £7 9s 9d from the "B G Swaffield Marriage Settlement Trustees" from December 1928, acknowledging the interest paid, signed by Samuel Exton Swaffield, Laura Harriet Gee (nee Swaffield), Annie Grimmer (nee Swaffield) and Eva May Swaffield.
