    Papers relating to the death of Mrs Alice Swaffield (daughter of Samuel Swaffield) on 20th September 1926. Included in the file are:- (i) a list of the 41 nephews and nieces of the late Alice Swaffield and her late husband Thomas Watkinson Swaffield (who was the son of Samuel's brother Benjamin Swaffield and therefore Alice's cousin), grouped by sibling of Alice or Thomas. (ii) a letter to Annie Grimmer at 7 Church Street, Ampthill (as a niece of Alice being a daughter of Alice's brother Benjamin George Swaffield) from solicitor J H Powell of Full Street, Derby advising her of her legacy of £135 1s 2d from Alice's and Thomas's estate. (iii) a copy of the accounts drawn up by J H Powell as the winding up of the estate, executors being named as: Elizabeth Williams, Eva May Swaffield and John Henry Powell. (iv) a copy of the auction catalogue of Messrs Brownson & Son of Highfield Road, Derby, who were charged with the sale of Alice's household furniture and effects, which are all listed individually.
