    i) King Charles II ii) Sir George Carteret, Vice Chamberlain of H.M. Household and Privy Councillor (recital of decay of growing timber for building ships. Recital ii) has royal grant for three lives and 30 years of office of Keeper of two perambulations of Cranborne Chase in Windsor forest and he is willing to be at charge of growing oak, elm and beech in the walks for easy transportation on the Thames) ii) covenanted with i) at his own charges to sow the acorns and beech mast and plant with elms 20 acres within the pale of Cranborne Chase and 120 acres without the pales. 60 of best thriving trees to be left at end of term. Not more than 1,000 to be beech. Bad trees to be replaced. To be fenced until too big to be spoilt by cattle etc. ii) and family to have use of decayed trees on certification to Chancellor of the Exchequer who is also to decide allotment of trees (i.e. where trees are to be planted) Royal assent certified under Royal Sign Manual
