    Joan Franklyn, by will of 5 August 1767 devised all her property in Pavenham to friends, John Cater, Kempston, esquire, and Thomas Walker, Bletsoe, clerk, in trust for sale. Money raised to pay off £500 and interest charged on said estate by will of brother-in-law, John Franklyn deceased, and payable to his sister, Mrs Mary Ash and her children. Also to pay funeral expenses. Also to pay £1000 to son Joseph Franklyn, £900 to son William, £800 to son John, £700 each to sons Robert and Charles, and £5 each to daughters Mary, Elizabeth, Catherine, Lucretia and Jenny. Surplus - 30 guineas apiece to trustees and remainder to be divided among 5 sons in same proportions as legacies. Thomas Walker is dead John Cater now applies to be admitted to following land (allotted in lieu of 11 acres under enclosure) - land in Slotches (6 acres 9 perches) which is then surrendered to use of Richard Sutton, Berkeley Street, Westminster, esquire.
