…all freehold lands, in trust for Elizabeth for life and then to brother George Thornton for life and his male heirs. If default to brother Harry Thornton for life and then to nephew Charles Stuart Thornton, the eldest son of Harry and his sons. If default, to Harry Godfrey Thornton, 2nd son of Harry, and his sons. If default to Arthur Stephen Thornton, 3rd son of Harry and his sons etc. If default to brother Edward Thornton, then to his eldest son Edward Brooke Thornton, and his sons, If default to Armine Littledale Thornton, 2nd son of Edward and his sons etc.
…personal estate, to convert into money and to buy estates. Until this happens money to be invested.
